Go and see Abby and Lara at the Basement for an evening of French fun.

ABBY DOBSON, songstress extraordinaire and former front person of multi-platinum selling band Leonardo’s Bride, and LARA GOODRIDGE, violinist/singer in the eclectic, electric string quartet FourPlay, delight and enchant in a special performance of French song. With songs from Edit Piaf, Serge Gainsbourg, Charles Aznavour, Charles Trenet, Brigitte Bardot, Françoise Hardy, France Gall, Camille, and more, Abby & Lara share their passion for the romance and music of France and their love of harmony.

Le temps des cerises

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Bonjour à nos amis de frenchclass,

Term 2 has started and most of our classes like the cherries trees below are full and blossoming. However if you want to start with us call me and I will see what we can do for you. We recommend to be ready for a term of lessons you can start your learning with the Michel Thomas method. See classes page for the links.

As many of you know I am just back from a family trip in Drôme in the Rhône Valley. I went to supervise the slow but continuing renovation of our country house La Grange, visit my mother and recharge my French batteries.

We are finishing 2008 having had a fantastic year bringing the French language to a great many delighted and happy Sydneysiders who share our love and passion for France. We have now settled into our lovely new classroom and are enjoying the benefits of the extra space that it brings. We love the additional exposure on Glenmore Road too.
Our new programme of classes starts the week beginning 27th Jan. All the information click on the classes page of our website.

We had another wonderful trip to Provence in September with a enthusiastic and charming group of people who enjoyed the beauty and bounty of the Provencal countryside the way we do. Plans and bookings are underway for 2009 so if you want to be part of the marvellous experience check out the details on our website - tours page or call for more information at frenchclass in Paddington.

frenchclass has enjoyed being “maman” to our 2 duck trading company, with the French market baskets and we have had a great year selling les paniers at all the various markets we go to. In 2009 we will be taking part in Life in Style trade fair and hope to bring more baskets to Sydney and beyond as we all look for ways to reduce our use of plastics while carrying all our various needs.

Encore une fois - Joyeux Noel et bonne annee de Martine, Miriam, Willya et Louis de frenchclass. We hope to see you in 2009.
